SATELLITE CAMPUS

When asked whether Vanderbilt’s expansion to satellite campuses enhances the university’s reputation, respondents across most regions expressed favorable views. On a 1-7 scale measuring favorability, the average response across all students was approximately 4.7, suggesting a moderately positive perception of the initiative. However, opinions varied slightly by geographic background.

International students expressed the most favorable views toward the expansion, with an average score of just over 5, while students from the Northeast also showed relatively strong support. Students from the Midwest and West reported slightly lower but still positive responses, while respondents from the South expressed the least favorable views. This survey was conducted before the announcement of the San Francisco campus.

Jewish respondents reported the most favorable view of institutional neutrality, with an average score of 6.41, followed closely by Hindu students (6.14) and Christian students (5.37). Worse perceptions of neutrality were reported among agnostic (4.63), atheist (4.16) and Muslim respondents (4.13).
